Final day at Louis Vuitton!

Wow. Today was a great day! One of the best days that i had while working at Louis Vuitton these past few weeks!
It was pretty fun, talked quite abit with Syed, and we did our thing, sold quite alot of stuff together..haha.
As i did my job today for the last time, i felt pretty sad, and nostalgic, as i looked at everyone and everything in the store..
Ah, it was bittersweet! My legs were crying hallelujah, but my heart felt quite weighed down at the fact that i would be leaving my first ever real job, my first ever real colleagues-friends, and the first place where i had a real responsibility other than studying..haha.
Towards the end of my working day, i managed to corner Syed and a few other SAs, taking pictures to capture our ending moments as colleagues.. We had fun, and it was really great! Spread the L O V E Robin, spread the love. Haha.
And then, for the first time, when working there, i felt that the day had gone by all too soon.

First day at Louis Vuitton!

Hey hey!!.. Today was my first day of my initial two week stint at Louis Vuitton, in Starhill Gallery!! I have to say, it is extremely extremely tiring! I think i was standing/running for like.. SEVEN hours today? Well, as a newbie, i of course, start as a runner. Well, my job is to assist the Sales Assistants (SAs), and help out everyone in the store.
My workday today was from 12pm - 8pm (shortened half an hour, first day..haha). Well, first i met up with Kithelyn (well, just call her Kit, much easier..haha), the Store Manager, who got me introduced to Han and Ian, two othe
r runners. Han basically just taught me all i needed to know at the back, and what to do in different situations, and how to do packaging, find for stuff etc. Ian gave me a store tour, and introduced me to other people working there. I have to admit, it did seem pretty intimidating initially.. but i got used to the place soon.
Can you believe that the place is so friggin busy??!! Even on a Monday! And the prices of stuff is just plain, hands down RIDICULOUS.
Damn.. the 'cheapest' thing i saw was a RM470 tag?.. Lol. Keychains are like RM700+ by the way..haha. Jesusss... And yet there were so many people in the store throughout the day.. damn. Just plain amazing.
Lol. Well, as the day progressed my feet got more and more tired..haha. But it was interesting and kinda enjoyable.. One customer asked me how old i was..haha. SIXTEEN BITCH!. lol. Other than assisting and all that, i also did some pricing and backroom stuffs. Well, later i had lunch, which is free, courtesy of the company - yayyy! Just order and someone buys all the stuff, and you just eat when you're free. Heh.
Bleh, enough enough!! My feet are hella killing meeeeee~.

Lol, well here's a list of my colleagues:
Kit, Store Manager
Han, "Lead" Runner
Ian, Runner
Lee Lee, SA
Wanda, SA
Kevin, SA
Heng Kit, SA
Zain
and..a few other people whose names i didn't get..><><>

U.S. Flashback: 11.06.07

Woke at 7am today. Went to the mamak nearby home and had my last roti canai for awhile! Then went to the dentist, where we had to wake for the douche to come, the place opens at 8.30, the guy came at 9. Jeez. Then the checkup took like.. what, one minute? Lol. Quickly rushed to school. Took the graduation CD. Said 'Bye' to Tze, Vince and Saba, last time i was going to see anyone for a month! Back home, waited for mom, she went god knows where. Then got driven to the airport by Dad's security personnel. Since we were running abit late, we told him to speed up abit, and he went at about 190km/h! Lol. Took 40mins to get to KLIA? Haha. Checked-in, and met Fawn's mom who works for China Airlines. Since we were taking China Airlines, she got us into the Dynasty Lounge! Comfy place where we just chilled. Boarded the plane later at about 2.20pm. Watched 2 movies - I think I Love My Wife; Music & Lyrics (POP GOES MY HEARTTT!). Haha, didn't know it was such a good movie..
Reached Taipei later at 7pm. Ate some beef noodles and just whiled away time, going round the whole damn terminal..
Boarded plane @ 10.50pm. Didnt move from my seat for a damn long time on the flight to LA. Headsets didnt work. Fuck. Damn bored, just read abit before sleeping for about 5 hours. Served breakfast at about 7am(GMT+8) ..-.-. Buggers woke me up from my sleep.. had nothing to do! No idea how i made it thru the next 6 hours. LONGGG wait at immigration entrance, apparently the American airports aren't very efficient.. A computer broke down.

Lol. That's some good beef jerky.

Had to wait a long time, because every single
person had to get their thumbs scanned and have a mugshot taken.
"Funny-looks-like-a-korean-american-can-speak-bad-malay" guy came up and checked our visas.. He said something like, "Kami murah". I think implying that Malaysians are cheap..lol?! Finally got through, then took a pretty damn long time waiting for a shuttle bus from our hotel that apparently didn't exist. Outside weather was sorta like Genting, but colder, and this is at ground level? Lol. Was initially nice, but after awhile, it was just C-O-L-D!!.. We then took a free bus to Dollar Car Rental, where we rented a Pacifica Chyrsler, for about USD$1000+ for almost 2 weeks. Damn that's expensive..

Well, it was getting pretty late by then, and we still needed to dri
ve over to Anaheim where our motel was. Went onto the 405 Freeway, but took a wrong turn and got lost.. Had abit of trouble finding our way back to the Freeway..
Over an hour later, we finally reached Travelodge Anaheim! A nice little motel nearby Disneyland Drive.. By the time we unpacked, showered and went to bed it was what, 5am?
Lol, a very turbulent first few hours in the US!..>< Well, since blogspot doesn't really have much space, ill post more pics down here:

Life IS too short.

Well, yesterday's big dinner at KLCC was cancelled. I had to leave KL in the afternoon because my aunt had passed away a few days earlier and the funeral was suddenly scheduled to be on Saturday. So, left at about 4pm+ and just sped off to Alor Setar, which is kinda near Penang, further north abit.
The drive was pretty uneventful, and then when we reached the Memorial place, some of my cousins, uncles and aunts were already there. My cousins - Jennifer and Howard (my aunt's children), flew back from England to be here. It was pretty sad stuff, i mean, they were all the way like half way across the globe, and their mom suddenly passed away. Shit that sucks.

Well then we had this guy come in jeans and a tee saying something in chinese about burning something, then next thing you know he has on his Taoist priest garbs, yellow robe + hat and all. There was this huge paper house in the middle of a large circle, surrounded by some yellow paper that was meant to be offerings to support my aunt in her afterlife. The house was like friggin huge, i think about 7 feet high? Anyways, we were then led round the thing carrying jaw sticks (not sure if i spelled this right), led by the chanting "Taoist priest". Then we stood in front of the offerings, said some last words and burnt the thing. We stood in a large circle, surrounding the burning thing. Ash was circling the air, and after everything burnt, we went round back, and had to wash our hands to "cleanse" them or something. Well, it was my first time experiencing or doing anything of this sort, so all this is was extremely new to me.
(I will be posting a video of this procession later)

Then we waited for my other cousins and aunt to arrive before heading off to our hotel, StarCity. Was very worn out by the time i finished showering and everything, at about 1am. But had to wake up pretty early for a ceremony before the actual cremation. Turns out she didn't want to be buried. Well, for me, i personally wouldn't want to be cremated. I'd rather be preserved.. but that's me.
We then had to do, in my opinion, the saddest thing of the day. I had to go and look into the casket, and take one last look at my aunt, before they closed the lid, and nailed the coffin shut. It was eerie, yet comforting, because when I saw her, I felt that she was actually at peace.
Then the casket was loaded onto a van, and we slowly followed it to the crematorium. We paid our last respects, and watched the coffin slide into the room where she would be incinerated later. Silence and tears followed.
I'm saying all this very bluntly, but there is simply no other way to put it.

Everyone met up later for lunch before checking out of the hotel. We all felt at ease, I'm sure, because we had done what she had wanted. And cli
ché as it may sound, I'm sure she would want us to stay strong.
So this one's for you.
Rest in peace Tai Yee.
Love, Jann.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix !

Well, finally yesterday Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix came onto the big screen!! Wooooo~
Also met up with elle, dal, kears and vince once again after such a long time! Act
ually, since after grad, when i left for the US over a month ago..
Well, we went to Times Square, where me and vince came early and we killed some time waiting for the movie (at 12.20pm) at the arcade.. Then as usual, the rest of them came late ><. I'd been waiting for this movie to come out since the freakin posters were up..like over a month ago? Haha, well, i expected it to be awesome, but yet again, the people making the film let the fans down. Bleh, but there were some plus points to the movie.. such as:

Evanna Lynch aka Luna Lovegood's performance, which was simply "dreamy". And she didn't seem to be as weird as described in the book, which was good..haha. And i ALSO realised that alot of my friends don't read very much.. -.-
I mean, which kids DON'T read Harry Potter? Or READ at all for that matter. Jesus..

Anyways, the other pluses is obviously the fight at the Ministry of Magic, which was pretty cool, much better than what I'd imagined it to be..
And of course, the now indispensable Emma Watsonnn! I
mean seriously, as the movies have progressed there's been all this talk about how she was "too pretty to be Hermione"..haha. Oh well, its all good. There were parts of the movie when I actually heard her really "laugh" or faked laugh or whatever for the first time.. well, it was quite cute.. lol.
Anyhoo, the movie was as usual a rush, and to fit 100s of pages into a two hour+ movie in itself is crazy, so i guess it was decent in portraying the overall story.
But if you love Harry Potter anyways, you should, like me, just bloody hell enjoy the damn thing!

Haha, anyways, after the movie we went for lunch at Sungei Wang at this 'sorta-pricey-for-that-kinda-restaurant' restaurant. Well, it did seem weird that no one but me and elle ate.. and the rest kinda watched. Lol. Well, after that we headed off to the arcade for some Daytona! Crap, how the heck did Elle get 1st and 2nd?.. Ah well, beginner's luck, beginner's luck..haha. We went walking around aimlessly, or.. window shopping for quite awhile before going to play pool. I don't know how or why but i was hell on fire.. until i played Elle for a 2nd time. My game like collapsed andd.. she "won".. omg, Kears went and stopped the white ball that was SO going in after the eight ball..-.- Haha, well after that just chilled with Vince awhile, before meeting up with Dad at Starhill. Went for something like an interview at the Louis Vuitton office up there. Met with my Dad's friend who manages the branch here.. and well, I got a job at LV!! Yayyy. Haha. I start next Monday, and it'll go on for about 2 weeks before my cousins from Beijing come down. Hope to get some cash before i start college or anything..haha. Hooray! And finally, i got a new, hopefully better blog up compared to my one at Xanga. Peace. P.S: Soon will be posting a day-to-day log on my trip to the US! A month of stuff to put up, should be exciting stuff.
